Un de Sceaux to go steeplechasing
Un de Sceaux to head over fences this season
One of the top horses in Willie Mullins’s jumping stable, Un de Sceaux, will go over fences this season.
Mullins revealed this morning that Un de Sceaux would be aimed at the Arkle Trophy at the Cheltenham Festival next March.
"We thought long and hard about it, but we've decided to go over the bigger obstacles, but keep him to two miles. Un de Sceaux did win over two and a half miles in France twice last seasons, but we went for those races because the money was so good. Now we'll go back in distance. Soft ground is a help with him too."
With Vautour going over fences too and My Tent or Yours missing the season through injury, another young star of the Mullins stable, Faugheen, is hardening all the time at the top of the 2015 Champion Hurdle ante-post market.

"He's a young horse and we're not going to take any chances with him. My Tent or Yours can come back next year after he's had this winter off at Martinstown Stud," (owned by his owner JP McManus).
